The Father of Pellet Grill
Joe Traeger, the founder of Traeger Grill, modernized smoking food with his patented design back in 1986. He designed an electric grill using switches for temperature range control. The grill had a rotating auger or tube which connects the hopper and the firebox. To keep the food from burning and grease from dripping to the heat source, he placed a metal plate between the grill grate and the flames.
